| Marisela Escobedo Ortiz was simply a mother who wanted justice for the brutal murder of her daughter Rubí. A court in Mexico dismissed the charges against Rubí's killer, despite the overwhelming evidence against him as well as an open court confession by the murderer. Marisela then dedicated her life protesting against the injustice done to her daughter. She organized many protests across the state of Chihuahua and even sought help from Mexican President Felipe Calderon in Mexico City. The Mexican government did nothing to help her, and she was eventually murdered on the steps of the Chihuahua State Capital Building. This website is dedicated to her life, and to continue her mission to show the Mexican government's inability to bring justice not only to her innocent daughter's life, but to the countless daughters and sons murdered in Mexico. |
